Safety Representative's Course
Course Overview:
Our Safety Representative's Course is a comprehensive three-day program for nominated Safety Representatives. Under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, 2005 employees may select and appoint a Safety Representative from among their fellow employees. The Safety Representative's role includes consultation on workplace health & safety matters, workplace inspection, accident investigation and investigation of complaints, etc.
This course will help those nominated to fulfill their role effectively and will help them to promote and maintain safety & health in their workplace
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will:
Understand the role of the Safety Representative.
Understand employers and employees and safety representatives’ responsibilities under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005, the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 and other applicable legislation.
Understand health and safety legislation.
Be able to identify the contents of a Safety Statement.
Be able to explain hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control.
Understand how to investigate, report and prevent workplace accidents.
Understand the importance of consultation and communication in health & safety in their workplace.
