Fire Safety + Awareness

Course Overview:

This module is designed to raise awareness of fire hazards within the work environment and to provide participants with the skills to be able to deal with these hazards and protect themselves in the event of a fire.  This course is suitable for all employees and is delivered onsite and tailored specifically to your work environment.

Duration:

2.5 hour

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course participants will:

• Understand the chemistry of fire and the development and spread of fire

• Be aware of the difference between the various classes of fire and suitable extinguishers available for each class

• Understand the requirement for emergency procedures and the action to be taken in an emergency

• Be able to identify fire hazards in the workplace

Course Programme:

1. Current Legislation

2. Chemistry of fire

3. Fire risks in the workplace

4. Fire safety measures

5. Action to be taken on hearing the fire alarm signal

6. Action to the taken in the event of a fire

7. Location and use of fire extinguishers

8. Means for summoning the Fire & Rescue Services

9. Identity of persons nominated to assist with evacuation

10. Identity of persons nominated to use fire extinguishing appliances

Certification:

Successful participants receive an Advanta Safety Fire Safety & Awareness Certificate which is valid for 2 years
