Basic First Aid
Course Overview:
Our one day Basic First Aid course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to assist a person who is ill or injured. The course covers all the common medical emergencies as well as the four life-threatening emergencies; Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack, Stroke, and Choking.
The course is suitable for anyone who wishes to gain a better understanding of first aid and feel confident to step forward and help someone in need.
We run regular public courses or alternatively, this course can be delivered onsite for groups.
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will:
Be able to assess a patient who is ill or injured
Be capable of identifying common medical conditions and treating accordingly
Be able to recognize and provide immediate treatment for life-threatening conditions
Know how to react in an emergency situation

Calling emergency services
Patient Assessment
Cardiac Arrest & CPR, Heart Attack, Stroke & Choking
Treating an unconscious patient
Medical conditions: Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes
Wounds & Bleeding
Fractures, Sprains & Strains
Burns & Scalds
Assessment:
Participants will be assessed on their practical skills.
Certification:
Successful participants receive an Advanta Safety Basic First Aid Certificate (valid for 2 years)
