First Aid for Parents
Course Overview:
This is a practical 2 hour information session, currently being delivered live through Zoom, and is perfect for parents, grandparents, childminders, etc. The session will give you the confidence to deal with the common medical emergencies that may be experienced when caring for children and infants. Participants will also learn life-saving skills such as CPR and how to deal with a choking incident. It is a particularly helpful session for new parents, grandparents, etc. as it is designed to be an open and interactive discussion where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice any concerns.
We deliver this session by request for groups. Please contact us if you would like to arrange a session for a group of your friends or family.
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will:
Be able to assess a child or infant who may be ill or injured
Be capable of identifying common medical conditions and treating accordingly
Be able to recognize and provide immediate treatment for life-threatening conditions
Know how to react in an emergency situation
